July 2012 Mortgage Interest Rates Denver CO (archived)

Aug 26, 2012

Mortgage rates have slid again in recent weeks, but ever so slightly (see graph, below).  There's not been much to report in recent weeks that would suggest mortgage interest rates are ready to rise. Europe's economic crisis continues with unsettling news in both Spain and Greece.  These concerns have kept bond prices high, which in turn, has kept mortgage interest rates low.

There will be a meeting of the Federal Reserve soon, and it is anticipated that they'll only support further easing.  If the market does tick-up anytime soon, I don't foresee much upward movement based upon the mortgage news we've been hearing.  Stay tuned for the next update.  Stay tuned.  (originally posted July 27, 2012)

 Interest Rate Advice

Although there's a lot of reasons for interest rates to remain stable throughout this calendar year, the long term expectation is for interest rates to rise. Don't take these low rates for granted. If you're financing a home right now, my best advice is to "lock-in" these low rates, rather than gamble that they'll be lower as you get closer to your closing date. Better be safe, than sorry!

If you're in the market for a home this year, allow us to help you find the right lender and loan program, and help you take advantage of these great low interest rates. Today’s interest rates are quite a bargain!
