April 2015 Mortgage Interest Rates

Mortgage interest rates rose, and then dipped again, last month. This essentially left the market pretty much where it was, at the beginning of the March.

The announcements by the Fed during March left many of us with the impression that rates will remain stable at least through early summer. The Fed continues to get a lot of pressure to raise rates by the rate hawks, but they have managed to hold-off and maintain the status quo. That said, there are just as many economic advisors who beleive that a rise in rates is premature, and would threaten the economy. Sometime around June of 2015, we'll get a better idea of where those rates will go during the second half of the year.

As we enter April 2015, interest rates appear to be trending downward again. During the first few days of April, we'll get the latest news from the much anticipated jobs report, and that could send rates either direction. Stay tuned.

Till next month,
