10 things you can do to keep your home in
top-shape during July

• Inspect brick and mortar on house and chimney. Tuckpoint any joints needing repair.
  
  
• Wash deck, but be careful if 'pressure washing' it.  Contrary to popular belief, pressure-washing can be harmful to the wood.
  
  
• Clean windows and repair any ripped screens.
  
  
• Repair gate latches and any deteriorating support posts.
  
  
• Clean or replace air conditioning filter.
  
  
• Make a list of specific repairs and job to perform before cooler weather arrives.
  
  
• Check landscape water features for leaks and routine maintenance.
  
  
• Swimming pools are not all that common in Colorado, but if you have one, inspect for proper operation and chemistry every few weeks.
  
  
• Remove dead tree limbs and branches from the house.  They will attract insects.
  
  
• Inspect for insect infestations, and treat.
  
  
• Adjust sprinkler heads for proper spray, and water-wise operation.
