March Home Maintenance

NAILING FENCE BOARDS

12 things you can do to keep your home in
top shape during March

1) Inspect the fence for loose boards, rails, posts.  Nail and repair as needed.

2) Clean dirty shower base.  Remove any mildewed caulk around tub.

3)  Turn on your stove's self-clean cycle.  Clean grease drip pans.

4)  With a toothbrush & needle, clean igniter & burner holes on your gas stove.

5)  Drain 2 gallons from HWH (using hose) to help remove sediment from tank.

6)  Unscrew and clean shower-heads to remove sediment & bacteria.

7)  Inspect and repair holes in all windows screens.  Warmer temps are coming!

8)  Before those heavy Spring rains, remove winter debris from gutters and downspouts.

9)  Fill low spots around foundation so water drains away from the house.

10)  Tune-up the lawn mower before the Spring rush.  Fill with fresh gasoline.

11)  Inspect roofing, eaves, soffits for gaps to prevent invading rodents & bugs.

Bonus Tip:   Turn your mattress every 30 days if a king, and every 2 months otherwise.  Just leave the fitted sheet in place and turn it.
