 Keep your yard and garden in top shape
with these timely and seasonal gardening tips.

 

1) Remove or cut-back withered tulip, hyacinth, and daffodil stems. 

2) Prepare soil for late-summer planting.

3) Prune deciduous hedges in early-June to maintain shape. 

4) Prune within a couple inches of last pruning.

5) Deadhead spent roses to promote new flowering and blooms.

6) Deadhead fading plants to encourage blooming & prevent disease.

7) Plant vegetables, trees, shrubs, and flowering plants by mid-June.

8) Sharpen and adjust mower blades.

9) Fertilize lawn and garden.

10) In early June, prune new candles on pines to control shape/size.

With summer watering restrictions now in effect in many Denver Metro suburbs, hand-water and baby lawn areas that dry-out more quickly.
