Mortgage interest rates broke the 4% mark, and have been moving-up during the last few weeks. Rates on a 15-year fixed mortgage are approximately .5 to .75% lower.

Interest rates rose last month on an anticipated jump in short-term rates by the Fed. Although the decision to raise rates hasn't officially been made, the markets are already anticipating an increase. Any jump in rates will largely be dependent upon the jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, due out later this first week in December.

The biggest threat to mortgage interest rates in coming months are the continuing inflationary concerns of higher wages in a tightening labor market. Stay tuned.

Till next month,
