GIFT CARDS - for those who enjoy giving gift cards as presents, December is the month where many retailers offer bonuses and reward points with the purchase of gift cards.  Buy now and get yourself a little bonus, too.

AIRFARE & TRAVEL - early December is a terrific time to find travel bargains and deals.  Those who can travel or take a vacation this time of the year will surely benefit from the off-season bargains.  An extra bonus is that you won't find long lines at most of the more popular destinations.

A HOUSE - this can be the best time of the year to buy a house, especially if you're looking to strike a deal.  House hunting may not bring optimal weather, but motivated sellers are more common to find.  Many home buyers can count of extra incentives from the seller, between now and February.

TOYS - holiday shopping for toys always has merchants offering the best prices of the year.  If you plan ahead, you can lots more by purchasing birthday gifts in advance, too.

NFL TICKETS - pro football tickets are some of the most expensive sporting tickets you can buy.  That said, when cold weather sets-in and the season winds-down for many teams, this may be the time to treat your special someone to a real live game.  The first place to look for discount tickets is the NFL's ticket exchange on your teams' website, or from someone you know.  Be careful of scammers on some internet sites, and make sure you buy from a reliable source.

WINTER CLOTHES & COATS - these big items take up lots of rack space, so retailer are motivated to begin dumping them now.  In another month or two, all the Spring merchandise will need to be moved in.  Becasue many holiday shoppers are distracted with purchases of other gifts right now, the selection of winter coats is at its best when you buy in December.

WEDDING DRESSES & SERVICES - December marks the off-season for wedding services, but as soon as the new year arrives, wedding planners will get busy with only months to go before Spring-Summer bridal shows and wedding season.  When you buy a wedding dress in December, you'll find a nice selection and the best of bargains.

ELECTRONICS & COMPUTERS - retailers will continue to offer huge discounts of electronics merchandise of all kinds through the holiday season.  You may not get "Black Friday" pricing, but many of the best annual deals and sales can still be had right now.

CAR BATTERIES - car batteries are more likely to need replacing in December than any other time of the year, and prices are at an all-time low.  Battery retailers want you to know who to call, and their ads are everywhere.  If you think you'll need a battery sometime in the coming months, buy it now and get the lowest price of the year.

CARS - the year-end closeout on cars makes winter car buying the next best time of the year to buy, second only to the old-models closeout during September.  If you really need a car now, or want to buy someone a nice Christmas or Hanukkah gift, you can't go wrong with the year-end car sales in the month of December.
